For more than 30 years, Jane Kaufman has been successfully treating urinary and bowel incontinence in kids (age 3+) and teens. Pelvic floor muscle control gives everyone in the family a better quality of life.
We typically work with kids who once had pelvic floor control, but lost it for any number of reasons, or who never achieved age-appropriate continence in the first place. Browse frequently asked questions.
Online physical therapy is a less invasive first step in evaluating and treating the problem. Creating better habits, establishing toileting protocol, and changing mindsets do not require in-person visits.
Treatment begins with an evaluation during which we’ll discuss the issues your youngster is experiencing and identify a treatment plan. Follow-up sessions enable patients to make progress towards achieving complete control of their pelvic floor muscle. As each person is on their own unique health journey, there is no fixed number of sessions.
Kids should be kids, without worry or fear about making it to the toilet in time. If young ones are busy or active, they might not want to take the time to go to the bathroom. Shyness and fear of being singled out can also contribute to constipation, urinary tract infections, day and night-time wetness, and other undesirable conditions.
There is a process to successfully treating pelvic floor problems. Over many years, Jane has created a successful regimen that has enabled hundreds of young people to overcome their pee and poop challenges. Treating kids is Jane’s passion because of the excitement she sees when kids realize they can overcome their greatest frustration.
